Melody Ng (Fonstad) This award is granted to a Saskatchewan Veterinary Technologist who has made significant contributions to the profession through outstanding performance and dedication. This year the award was given to Melody Ng (Fonstad). Melody is known to be caring with co-workers and all of her clients. As a dedicated tech she strives to do her best and is often the first staff member in to work and the last to leave. She will usually volunteer her time to come in after hours to treat hospitalized patients. She also gave up time on her Christmas vacation to help with the boarding kennel. With the use of positive reinforcement, she is wonderful at teaching tech students, vet students, volunteers and clients. Melody encompasses what all techs should be. She is compassionate with the pets and the clients and has a true love for her career.

Tamara McLoughlin (Leader) The Appreciation Award is annually given to someone who supports Veterinary Technologists and assists in promoting awareness of the SAVT. This distinction was awarded to Tamara McLoughlin this year for her contributions to the CAAHT/ ACTTSA and SAVT boards. Not only does she make us all laugh, she is very diligent and passionate about her work. She is constantly assessing things, improving them, and throwing good old fashioned 110% prairie girl hard work behind her fabulous ideas. She is a merit to the associations and to each member of the SAVT. |

Dr. John Ayres and Dr. Rod Webber This award is aimed at recognizing an active member of the SVMA who supports Veterinary Technologists in the workplace and also works towards the promotion of the VT profession. This year the partners of the Norsask Veterinary Group, Dr. John Ayres, Dr. Rodney Webber and Dr. Doug Bienia have won this distinction. These vets were nominated for supporting their veterinary technologists at work and in their professional lives. Always proud when their techs reach their goals. They are willing to explain information to their techs, taking the extra moment to help strengthen their staff. Through excellent leadership skills, they support diversity and guide their techs to be understanding human beings. They always see the middle ground with clients and staff, making the techs look forward to working with them. |
