Pet Expo Saskatoon Exhibition Grounds – Is a showcase of breeders, retailers, clubs, and animal care professionals, who together provide continuing education to pet owners’. This is an excellent venue to let the public know what SAVT is and what a Veterinary Technologist is!
Pet Expo is held in October at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.
Time commitment: Unlimited, shifts are two hours.
Qualifications: Graduate VT or VT student.

Doggone Safe - Is an educational program designed to teach children how to prevent dog bites.
Time commitment: Unlimited, one presentation will take ½ - 1 hour.
Qualifications: Graduate VT that likes children.

SAVT Board of Directors - A tremendous opportunity to work with a great association. For detailed job descriptions, see the section, above.
Time commitment: Meet 2-3 times a year, monthly conference calls.
Qualifications: Active member of SAVT

SAVT Conference Committee - The conference committee consists of six members who plan the scientific and social program for the conference. The jobs are very manageable and split up so no one person is overwhelmed.
Time commitment: Minimum one year, committee meets as needed.
Qualifications: Member of SAVT
Requirements: Have lots of ideas, ready access to internet (a lot of work is done by email), and ability to have fun!

Chapters - SAVT would like to see local chapters established around the province. It is a great opportunity to network with other veterinary technologists, and hold CE opportunities close to home.
Time commitment: To be determined by your chapter

SAVT rep on Lakeland’s and SIAST Kelsey Campus VT Program Advisory Council - The Advisory committees provide VT programs with information on the changing needs of business, industry, and community. They are also a source of input for program development, review/evaluation activities and resource identification.
Time commitment: Three year terms/meet once a year.
Qualifications: Active member of SAVT
Requirements: Prepare report for SAVT Board
