RVTTC Who Are We?

The Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC) is a not-for-profit organization uniting provincial/regional veterinary technician and technologist associations. Founded in 1989 as the Canadian Association of Animal Health Technologists and Technicians (CAAHTT), RVTTC was tasked with promoting the veterinary technologist profession, establishing and maintaining national standards of membership, and becoming a resource regarding national and international issues.

Since its inception 26 years ago, RVTTC has grown to encompass six provincial veterinary technician/technologists associations and over 6000 individual Registered Veterinary Technicians and Technologists (RVTs).

By supporting our members, and becoming a valuable resource to bind the veterinary technology profession, we hope to facilitate positive change for RVTs across Canada. It is our firm belief that when RVTs, RVT associations, and Veterinary Associations work together to improve the animal health care team, we ultimately augment the lives of the patients we care for thus improving animal welfare on a global level.

I am an RVT/RAHT - How do I become a RVTTC member?

If you are a RVT or RAHT then you are a member of one of the provincial veterinary/animal health technician/technologist associations -  OAVT, EVTA, MAHTA, AAAHT, SAVT, or BCVTA - then you are already a RVTTC member as your provincial association has paid for your membership.

To unite, advance, and strengthen the RVT profession across Canada.

Animal healthcare excellence nationwide.

RVTTC works together with provincial veterinary technician/technologist associations in an effort to unite, advance, and strengthen the RVT profession across Canada. Engaging provincial associations allows us to collaborate on areas of mutual interest, ultimately helping us to champion the RVT profession on a national level and achieve animal healthcare excellence.
