Description

It is not just a job… it is your career! New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!

Our mixed animal practice in Southeast Saskatchewan is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team at Valleyflats Veterinary Services. There are full time and part time positions available. Our team currently consists of 3 DVM’s, 4 RVT’s and various support staff.

Moosomin is a progressive community located along the Trans Canada highway just 2.5 hours east of Regina, SK and 1.5 hours west of Brandon, MB. As a thriving rural centre, Moosomin offers all services and amenities with many new restaurants and hotels, a recreation centre, public elementary school/high school and a hospital.

We are within minutes of the scenic Pipestone and Qu'Appelle Valleys; offering golf, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, ATVing, and the beautiful Moosomin Lake resort - so if you enjoy the outdoors, there are endless recreation opportunities here!

We incorporate our RVT’s heavily into every aspect of our day-to-day practice to maximize your job satisfaction, personal fulfillment, and professional development. Our RVT’s are the cornerstone of our client admission and communication, surgery preparation, anesthesia, radiographs, and our complete in-house Idexx laboratory. Large animal RVT duties include preparation and assistance for surgery (ie. equine castrations, bovine caesarians), equine dental floats, bovine breeding soundness examinations, neonatal care, and a busy pregnancy testing season. Shared duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, inventory management, client education, and other reception related tasks.

Our RVT’s must display a positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to animal care, while possessing strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. RVT’s can expect to spend nearly all of their workdays on their feet assisting DVM’s and clients, and be able to lift pets and objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Days can get busy and crazy so our RVT’s must be prepared to work in a busy, fast paced environment!

We offer a competitive wage, benefits, employee discounts, annual CE allowance and paid membership dues. To apply please contact: valleyflatsadmin@sasktel.net (ATTN: June Mebs- Office Manager)
