Veterinary Technician Required

Hooves and Paws is looking for a full-time, energetic, and motivated Veterinary Technician (VT) responsible for performing duties that will ensure the quality care and treatment of all our animal patients at our clinic in Elrose, Saskatchewan. Successful applicant will provide daily care to animals and will be responsible for cleaning duties in the kennel area, large animal clinic, as well as other areas where assigned.

Duties:

Our successful applicant will require the ability to organize and co-ordinate assigned work, be required to make informed decisions concerning animal health and treatment, and may assist the Veterinarian with certain aspects of animal care/treatment procedures.  The VT will perform all daily activities involved in the assistance of Veterinarians in Large and Small surgeries which will include:

• Pre-operative assessments
• Pre-medication
• Induction and anesthesia
• Post-operative recovery
• Cleaning instruments and preparing surgical packs
• Any other duties as required

It is expected of the VT to handle all animals with the utmost humane treatment, ensuring minimal stress.
