Our incredible team at Mosaic is looking for 2 RVT’s to join our progressive, mixed animal practice in Swift Current, SK on a full-time, permanent basis! These positions are primarily to serve our small animal clients, with the occasional large animal assistance. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity:

Our RVT’s must display a positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to animal care, while possessing strong organizational skills, excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Our employees are passionate and show great compassion for animals and their owners and understand the stress that patients and clients are under. As we are a mixed animal practice, RVT’s must be comfortable working around multiple species of animals. Our RVT’s daily duties comprise of the following, but they are not limited to these duties: nursing care, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging and testing, client education and interaction including admissions and discharges, filling prescriptions and attending farm calls with DVM’s as needed. Saturdays are worked rotationally with other technicians (about 1 in 4 Saturdays), and a day off is given after every Saturday that is worked.

We may be biased, but we think that our team at South West Animal Health Centre is pretty special. Our team is comprised of 5 veterinarians and 4 technicians, and we are lucky to have incredible assistants, receptionists and an inventory manager to support us along the way. Our clinic is well-equipped with in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, dental X-ray machines, and more. We strive to offer excellent patient care in a fun and supportive work environment where utilization of everyone’s skillsets is always top of mind.  Swift Current is a dynamic city and as the largest center in the southwest region of Saskatchewan, Swift Current is proud to boast a vibrant downtown business core. The City boasts an indoor aquatic centre, two fantastic 18-hole golf courses that offer exquisite fairways and greens, a multi-faceted Chinook Pathway that offers a beautiful walk or ride along the Swift Current creek, and a vast network of parks and recreational areas.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • A strong desire to educate and build strong relationships with clients;
  • A positive team player attitude to enable our team to grow and flourish;
  • A love for diversity in the type of work you do;
  • The ability to lift 35+ pounds without assistance;
  • Strong organizational skills which allow you to stay focused and work under pressure;
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year veterinary technology program;
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant governing bodies;
  • Ability to work overnights, evenings, and weekends.
